The first meeting for Trailhead Resources was held Friday, April 9, to discuss establishing a permanent shelter for homeless men.

Around a dozen people attended, including those representing recovering addicts, members of the religious, mental health and medical community, as well as two men who are currently homeless.

The attendees discussed programs and services to implement, community partnerships and how to involve city and county leadership.

A potential site for a permanent shelter was identified at Changers Church and participants discussed arranging meetings with the church to discuss using a portion of the building for a shelter.

The need for a board was identified and the next meeting was set for the following Friday
